A couple weeks ago, we had a blizzard that dumped a huge amount of snow in Lehigh Valley, PA. Here are a couple videos from the storm. I love when the snow is really deep like this. It's ashame that we don't get storms like this more often. I would love to have at least one storm a year drop at lest 18+ inches of snow on us. :) I don't have a new video of Chance running around in the snow, but ...

Snowy and sloppy
Boy, it was sloppy getting to work today. :( Wanted to write a little about the State of the Union from last night. Overall, I will say it seems that the Pres. Obama is trying. I think his mind is in the right spot (ie saying people have lost faith in our gov't - call it the way you see it) The problem is that Obama and all others elected to Washington, need to change. It's not the American peo...

An Inconvenient Truth (well really a lie, I’m just saying)

Posted By: bdog on March 8, 2010 in Politics - Comments: Comments Off

Well, now that more and more is coming out about ‘inconvenient truth’ about climate change (aka global warming). It’s been known for decades that the earth has gone through several cycles of warming and cooling, think about the ice ages. There was more than one ice age, so the logical part of my brain tells me that there were a couple periods of warming. DUH!!!

I wonder where Al Gore (the supposed champion of global warming education) is? I have not heard his superstar mouth open about the new evidence of the scientist doctoring data to ‘make sure’ global warming was evident in their research. I also wonder if Mr. Gore, got a little more green after it was reported that his monthly electric (produced from a coal plant) consumption was over 20x’s that of the average American. Now, I’ve found that this stat is incorrect, http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/gorehome.asp. It’s only 12x’s more than the average American. Oh yeah, that’s right he purchases ‘carbon credits’ from the gov’t to ‘help offset his consumption’. SERIOUSLY, that is a joke. You use what you use is what you use, you can’t purchase credits to decrease your usage. WTF!!! Enough about this wanna be superstar.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe we (all humans, that’s right ALL) have some responsibility in causing the Earth to warm. Heck as my 7th grade science teacher, Mr. Hartman said, ‘we are all 98 degree heaters’. Well that and we’ve had an industrial growth like no other in history over the past 100+ years. I’m not discounting the fact that global warming is happening or that we are helping it. Come on, it doesn’t take Phd to figure that out.Al Gore's residence uses about 12x's the power of the average Amercian.

My question, is why did all these scientists and people like Al Gore go and interject their basis data into the real data. The answer is money, if the scientists could make the ‘numbers work’ than they don’t get grant money! If global warming is not happening as fast as these corrupt scientists claim, Al Gore would not have had his movie win Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature nor had the movie gross $49 million world wide nor would he be the superstar he always wanted to be.

Once again, don’t get me wrong, I think each and everyone of use should walk more, bike more and consume less. But don’t try to get people to do this with lies and misinformation that is self serving. Now if Al Gore, would have put up solar panels (for electricity and heating water), bought a car other than the suv’s or anything that would show that he his practicing what he preaches, I’d support him. I just have a hard time supporting someone that uses misinformation to for the self serving reasons as this. The saying, “do as I say and not as I do”, works well with children, but not peers!

ok, I have to get off the soap box now. I can only hope that other people make all of our ’superstar’ politicians be accountable for the actions. I don’t think this is happening, as much as it should. I heard a lot about, “Change”, a year and half ago. The only thing that I’ve personally witness as change is that Arlen Spector jumped ship from one side to the other (the second time he’s done this in his career).

The sad thing is that at the end of the day, this is American politics as usual. :( I wish I had the fix all answer, to solve our political issues, but I don’t. I don’t think any of us do. I think that our government is so big, that it is just running away and leaving us the people to pick up the pieces and deal with all the BS.

Oh well, I feel better now that is off my chest. :)

Snowy and sloppy

Boy, it was sloppy getting to work today. :( Damn that's deep snow

Wanted to write a little about the State of the Union from last night. Overall, I will say it seems that the Pres. Obama is trying. I think his mind is in the right spot (ie saying people have lost faith in our gov’t – call it the way you see it) The problem is that Obama and all others elected to Washington, need to change. It’s not the American people that need to change!
The elected officials need to put the people first not their party! That goes for Dems and Repulicans.
Overall, I question the rockstar president’s decision to change his focus from healthcare to jobs. What’s it going to be next year?
Oh well, only time will tell what’s going to happen. I just hope that we don’t add another trillion to the deficient over the next year. ;)

Rain and obama

Posted By: bdog on May 4, 2009 in Politics, me raw - Comments: No Comments »

The rain the past week or so, has been ridiculous. I’m behind on my mowing because of the rain. This weather sux. I hope there is a break for a couple days soon…
In other random thoughts:
I swear every time obama speaks the markets tank. I just saw him this morning talking about tax codes reform, blah, blah, blah…
What did the market do? Within 1 minute of him talking the market (NYSE – yes, I know that the NYSE only covers 30 stocks) gave back almost 5% of the gains from before he spoke. with about 3 mins the market took back another almost 5%. WOW!!! almost 10% of the gains from this morning were given back within 3 mins. WTF!!! has anyone else seen this trend, too?
Obama, if you want the markets/economy to recover, Shut up!!
another interesting thing said was by Timothy Geithner, you know our United States Secretary of the Treasury. Our tax evasion hero said that the new tax reform will close loop holes so that people can’t do what he did (as easily- we all know with enought money you can do what ever you want). They are closing loop holes and working with other countries to close down tax havens. Awesome, I can’t wait. Oh, wait that has nothing to do with me. darn. I’m thinking as long as people don’t follow our ole buddy, Tim, and not pay taxes we should be ok as a country. I guess Geithner, was not a bad pick as the United States Secretary of the Treasury, because they always say the best way to catch a crook is to become a crook. So now that Geithner, is in charge, he knows all the loop holes he used to not pay taxes and he can close them and look for new holes that will be created.
I’m outtie, gone….

I love paranoid people :)

I came across some videos and websites recently that compare former President Bush to Hilter, Mussolini and Stalin. I just have to laugh at this. If Bush is/was a dictator, than why is he not still in control???? Oh that’s right, this is a true democracy. WOW! Have these people ever thought, that maybe decisions (whether we agree with them or not) were made with more information than is available to the general public.

This woman, Naomi Wolf, is absolutely insane. Way too far out there for me. She must live in a hole somewhere with nothing around her, because she feels that we (the people) are constantly under threat from within. Weirdo!! Get a grib lady!! Stop watching X-Files (my favorite all-time show) and watch Winnie the Pooh or Tele Tubbies. Funny thing is she’s making money of the same fears that she supposedly is exposing our gov’t of doing. My one question to her now is, Bush is out of office, who are you going blame now???

I watched a video of her, The end of America, and can’t believe the amount of people that paid (that’s right paid) to sit and listen to her. In the video, she has a recording of a ‘journalist’ that was in New Orleans after Katrina and said that he saw “an unmarked vehicle” with guys that had “M4″ guns and other “guns strapped to their legs”. Some how she comes to the conclusion that these were Blackwater paramilitary people. Does she have access to the Blackwater schedules or what. WTF!!!

My only advice to people like this is, if you think the gov’t is out to get you because you don’t believe what the president is doing is right, than get out. Go to another country where you don’t feel so paranoid. You’ll a lot better life and be happier. If you are not happy with the gov’t than make your voice heard. That is the beauty of this country. ;)

Oh yeah, one more point, if I was to think like these type of people, I better watch my back. Because I don’t believe that obama and his boy biden are making the best decisions right. SSShhhh, there’s a knock at the doo

I’m back and badder then ever
